The Walsall TUC, works to protect the status of the teaching profession and deliver real improvements to teachers' and school leaders.
Andrea Bradley, Executive member was proud to represent Walsall TUC and Unite’s Unity Over Division Task Force at the No Thank Nigel event, organised by Zarah Sultana MP and Mish Rahman of Show Racism the Red Card. Running alongside the protests, the event was filled with energy, music, and powerful speeches—this is the fight of our lives.
Mish Rahman reminded us:
"This city was built by working-class people—miners, nurses, immigrants. Farage talks about ‘taking our country back,’ but it was never his to begin with.”
John McDonnell MP warned that the real crisis is a government shielding big business while forcing workers to pay. In this climate, fascism thrives by exploiting anger and division. We've seen it before—and fought it before.
Today’s “hostile environment” doesn’t just target racial minorities but also benefit claimants, migrants, LGBTQ+ people, disabled people, and trade unionists—all under the guise of “defending free speech and British values.”
