International Workers Memorial Day 2025

The Walsall TUC, works to protect the status of the teaching profession and deliver real improvements to teachers' and school leaders.

Project Description

On Monday 28 April 2025 at 12pm, we gathered to mark International Workers’ Memorial Day under the theme, “Occupational Health and Safety: A Fundamental Right at Work.” This annual event serves as a powerful reminder of the lives lost due to unsafe working conditions and strengthens our commitment to ensuring health, safety, and dignity for all workers.

The gathering was well attended by faith leaders, trade union representatives, community organisations, local school pupils, and members of the public. Their presence demonstrated the spirit of solidarity and our shared determination to create safer, fairer workplaces.

We were privileged to hear from a range of speakers who brought powerful reflections and heartfelt messages. Their contributions honoured the memory of those we have lost and inspired continued action to protect workers today and in the future..

Sincere thanks are extended to all speakers, attendees, and everyone involved in organising the event. Your support ensures that Workers’ Memorial Day remains a meaningful and unifying occasion in our calendar.
