Heart Unions Week 2025 took place from 10th to 16th February and was led by the Trades Union Congress (TUC) to highlight the importance of trade unions in improving workers' rights. The theme, "Unions Make Work Pay," focused on how union membership leads to better wages and working conditions. Throughout the week, unions across various sectors showcased their successes, held events, and encouraged more workers to join and get involved in strengthening workplace protections. Nationally, we saw Trades Councils set up stalls in their local areas, engaging with communities and spreading the message about the benefits of union membership.
As part of Heart Unions Week 2025, Walsall TUC hosted a successful engagement stall at Walsall Saddlers Centre, where we connected with workers, young people, and retired members of the community. The event provided an opportunity to have important conversations about workplace rights, union membership, and collective action for fair treatment and better conditions.
The high level of engagement demonstrated the ongoing need for strong union representation, and we were pleased to see widespread interest in getting involved. We extend our gratitude to Walsall Unison General Branch, NASUWT Walsall, and NEU Walsall Branch for their support in providing merchandise and mobilising volunteers for the stall.
