On 25 July 2025, Walsall TUC stood in full solidarity with the ongoing Birmingham Bin Strike by attending the early morning Mega Picket at Holford Drive Birmingham Depot.

The action began at 4am, with strong attendance from striking workers, trade unionists, and community supporters. Representing Walsall TUC were our Secretary along with a number of young delegates and dedicated local supporters — demonstrating our unwavering commitment to defending workers’ rights across the region.

The mood on the picket line was one of unity, resilience, and determination. Chants, conversations, and solidarity speeches echoed the central message: "Fair pay, dignity, and respect for all bin workers!"

This strike is about more than pay — it’s about standing against erosion of terms and conditions, and ensuring essential workers are treated with the value and dignity they deserve. Today’s turnout reminded us all that the trade union movement is alive, active, and intergenerational.

We are proud to continue supporting the Birmingham Bin Strikers and call on all allies to stand with them in the weeks ahead.

Solidarity forever.
