Walsall Trades Union Council is proud to stand in solidarity with the workers at Village Hotel Walsall as they campaign for fair pay, equal treatment, and respect in the workplace.
Behind every check-in, every meal served, and every room prepared are hardworking staff who help keep the hospitality industry running. These workers are not asking for special treatment, they are simply asking for fairness.
The campaign highlights three straightforward principles: wages that people can live on, equal pay for equal work, and a genuine voice in the workplace through trade union representation. These are values that resonate across the trade union movement and are fundamental to ensuring dignity at work.
Taking industrial action is never an easy decision. It often comes at a personal financial cost, but workers choose to do so when they believe they have no other way to make their voices heard. Their commitment reflects the importance of the issues they are raising and their determination to secure a better future for themselves and their colleagues.
Walsall TUC believes that every worker deserves to be treated with respect and to be paid fairly for the work they do. We recognise the vital contribution hospitality workers make every day and support their efforts to achieve a just outcome through meaningful dialogue and negotiation.
We encourage our affiliates, supporters, and the wider community to learn more about the campaign, show solidarity where they can, and stand alongside those who are striving for fairness in the workplace.
An injury to one is an injury to all. Solidarity is our strength.
